  • You may have been asked to apply for a DBS check if:
  • You are working with children or vulnerable adults

Some other jobs may also require a DBS.

Can I have a reprint of my Disclosure?

You will have to request for a new check to be carried out as unfortunately lost or damaged Disclosures cannot be replaced.

Do I qualify as a volunteer?

A volunteer is defined as ‘a person who is engaged in any activity which involves spending time, unpaid (except for travelling and other approved out-of-pocket expenses), doing something which aims to benefit someone (individuals or groups) other than or in addition to close relatives'. The DBS do not charge for volunteer’s disclosure but our administration charge is still applicable.

There is an error on my Disclosure. What can I do?

If you have received the results of your DBS check and there is an error or you wish to challenge any of the information, you must contact the DBS directly. Disputes must be raised with the DBS within the first three months of the date of issue of the Disclosure.
